-
On the right-hand side, find the ’ Receives SMS’ setting.
-
Click the dropdown and select ’ Unsubscribed’.

In order to comply with anti-spam regulations, our messaging provider includes an automatic unsubscribed (opt-out) rule on all accounts. If a recipient replies to an SMS from your account with any of these five keywords (case insensitive), they will unsubscribe from receiving messages from your Zanda account:
- STOP
- UNSUBSCRIBE
You able to subscribe the recipients back, once you receive a confirmation that the client would like to be subscribed back.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are New Clients Subscribed to SMS by Default?
Yes. Every new client profile starts with Receives SMS set to Subscribed, so new clients can receive SMS messages from your account straight away.
There is no account-wide setting to start new clients as Unsubscribed instead. Receives SMS is set on each profile, so a client only becomes unsubscribed when:
- someone on your team sets Receives SMS to Unsubscribed on their profile (Admin > Manage), as described above, or
- the client replies to one of your SMS messages with an opt-out keyword such as STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE.
Receives SMS can’t be changed through Tools > Bulk Update, and there is no online form field that sets it. To see which clients are currently subscribed or unsubscribed, use the Receives SMS filter under Marketing in Advanced Search. See Searching for People: Instant and Advanced Search.
Note: Receives SMS is a different setting from Receives Marketing Communication. New clients start Opted Out of marketing communication, but that only controls who appears in your marketing bulk sends. It doesn’t stop SMS reminders or other SMS messages. See Client Profile in Detail.
